From 1940 onwards many machines allowed the electric and electronic processing of information.

The aim is to them in the FIRST EUROPEAN IT MUSEUM. Europe which was present in the extraordinary development of computers is likely to see these machines disappear because of IT technology evolution : most of these computers are notpreserved and will probably be forgotten.

OUR COMMUNITY SE MUST BACK UP THIS SIGNIFICANT SHARE OF ITS SCIENTIFIC INHERITANCE.

To contribute to this project a consortium of 3 countries was built up (FR/GB/IT). They are most concerned because they have known a great diversity of IT companies(40) and models (500):the museum will allow the public and the professionals to reach this technological wealth directly and indirectly by visiting the museum or through its Internet site.

• "La conférence" is organised on December 21 in PARIS, with "La Maison de La CHIMIE" , to launch the first European IT museum

• The conference will take place from 10 am to 13 pm
