Buy a rectangular framed picture in a thrift shop, and make sure the back cardboard is heavy enough and has a hang up system.

Dismantle the cardboard (length A, width B) from the frame. The depth of the room box is C. The smaller the frame, the smaller the depth must be. For a 20*30cm frame, 9cm is a maximum. Get some wood or strong cardboard 2 or 3mm thick.

Cut the rectangles for the ceiling and floor (length = A / width = C). Measure the thickness of the ceiling and floor. (D=2*3mm for instance).

Cut the walls (length = B - D / width = C). Floor and ceiling lie on the front of the back cardboard, the walls fit between them. Nothing passes beyond the size of the back cardboard.

Everything will be assembled together with adhesive laid on the outside of the box.

Your frame is 30*20cm. You want to make a room with a door and a table on the back wall, and some space around to put other objects. You have approximately measured a door (70cm) and a table (110cm). You want to add 120cm of space around them. All together, that makes 70 + 110 + 120 = 300cm. You can calculate the scale: real size / miniature size, which here gives 300 / 30 = 10. The size of all the miniatures will appoximately be the real size divided by 10.
