Sharin'Ware Overview

Sharin'Ware is a full-service public upload/download manager. It allows individuals to upload and download files via their web browser. It's reminiscent of what we all liked best about computer Bulletin Board Systems (BBSs) -- the ability for everyone to share files easily.

Individuals can upload files, and file descriptions via their web browser and the files are immediately available to everyone else. It's low maintenance for site administrators -- all they have to do is watch the hard disk space.

Features

Sharin'Ware features include:

  • HTML-based templates - Change the way a listing looks without having to know PERL. Simply replace the default HTML template with your own creation.

  • Keyword Search - Entering keywords, Sharin'Ware allows you to search for entries with matching text in title and description fields..
  • FTP-Independent - Allow users to Upload without an FTP server
  • Easy Uploading/Downloading - Users can upload and download via their web browser .
  • Extension restrictions - define the allowable file extensions for uploads.

  • web-based delete function - As administrator can use the administrative area to list/delete files.
  • Cgi-lib support - Sharin'Ware uses CGI-LIB.pl, the most popular PERL library. This means that as cgi-lib.pl gets updated, so will Sharin'Ware.

Registration

A single license for Sharein'Ware is $75. As part of the trial agreement, you will be asked to send the license fee to the program's author within seven days of successful installation. Every license includes free upgrades and patches for life. Online Arts doesn't believe in charging its customers more than once.
